Mini-Retreats |

Mini-retreats provide time and space to renew energy, refocus your mind-body connection, rewire, or just relax. They were designed to be a follow-up to the overnight retreats, but are open to everyone, whether you’ve been to an overnight already, plan to go to one in the future, or are looking for a shorter time commitment. Locations vary monthly to make them more convenient; if there’s a great location near you, please contact Jena. Activities and snacks will be chosen with the principles of Ayurveda in mind. Ayurveda is the sister science of yoga; it’s a lifestyle system which helps us maintain health by aligning body, mind and spirit with the patterns of nature (e.g. more cool salads in summer, more warm soups in winter). During our time together, we’ll briefly discuss the Ayurvedic recommendations for the season. Past sessions have included Nia, gentle yoga, Chi-ga, and meditation discussions. Some of the meditation techniques we’ve explored include Qi Gong, 4-Minute Fitness (combination of Qi Gong, breathing and visualization), Mandalas (symmetrical geometric shapes), Walking Meditation, Guided Visualization, Mantra Meditation (a word or phrase of your choice that has meaning for YOU), and Chakra Meditation. If participants already have a preferred method, they can choose to practice it rather than participate in the group meditation. Participants are free to pick and choose among the practices we’ll explore as a group – if one doesn’t appeal, they may read, journal, or choose a method to do individually. Reduce the price by signing up early. The cost is $55 for the half-day. Reduce it to $45 by signing up 10 days before the event. Discounted rates are available for purchase of more than one session. Payment is due at the time of the RSVP. If your schedule changes, full refunds will be given through 2 weeks prior to the event; a 50% refund will be given for cancellations with at least 3 days’ notice. In the event of an emergency requiring cancellation, credit will be issued to be applied toward a future event.
